The EcoMapper is low profile and easy to maneuver with a single person. 

• The EcoMapper is an AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) produced by YSI, Inc. that collects data on up to 10 water quality parameters simultaneously. 

• After surface deployment, the AUV cruises through the water column at speeds up to 4.6 mph using a preprogrammed trajectory. 

• The data can then be accessed online or even through a mobile phone

• In the end, this robotic sensor technology allows the user to collect high resolution 3D spatial data for studies such as pollution monitoring, storm response, and diel fluctuations (i.e. 24-hour cycles). 

• These highly detailed views of aquatic environments are truly at the cutting edge.
