This course provides an education abroad experience that will enable students to learn about tropical ecology and conservation while visiting Costa Rica. Students will learn to design and conduct field research generating and testing problem-solving hypotheses. Also, they will visit a variety of tropical environments and meet scientists conducting research in the tropics.

This course is designed for undergraduate students in Biology or related fields who have already taken Biodiversity (BSCI 10110) and Biological Foundations (BSCI 10120) and for graduate students with an interest in tropical biology or field ecology.
